Hello friends

smtp of Gmail. Here it is.

identity
====
Create one identity with a name that you want with this gmail id.

pop
===
<general>
name: <as-you-want, i use the identity name>
type: pop3
login: <full-gmail-username-with-'@gmail.com>
password: **********
host: pop.gmail.com
port: 995
<check on>: Store Pop password in configuration files
<extras>
<encryption>
<check on>: Use SSL for secure mail download
<authentication method>
<check on>: Clear text

smtp
====
<general>
name: <as-you-want, i use the identity name>
host: smtp.gmail.com
port: 25
<check on>: Server requires authentication
login: <full-gmail-username-with-'@gmail.com>
password: **********
<check on>: Store SMTP password in configuration file
<security>
<encryption>
<check on>: TLS
<authentication method>
<check on>: Login

(Obviously 'store pop/smtp password in configuration files' was optional, to
avoid the bother of getting asked every time i use kmail)
The port and authentication method settings that i used in kmail was a bit
different from the ones given by gmail, what i used here is 'Check what the
server supports' in both pop and smtp dialogue box in kmail.
For comparison i am quoting here, the settings as suggested by gmail.

<<<

*Incoming Mail (POP3) Server -- requires SSL:
        pop.gmail.com
        Use SSL: Yes
        Port: 995

*Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server -- requires TLS:
        smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
        Use Authentication: Yes
        Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
        Port: 465 or 587

*Account Name:
        your Gmail username (including '@gmail.com')

*Email Address:
        your full Gmail email address ([EMAIL PROTECTED])

*Password:
        your Gmail password

Please note that if your client does not support SMTP authentication,
you won't be able to access your Gmail messages.

*'Save Changes' after enabling POP in Gmail
*To ensure that Gmail can communicate with your mail client, be sure to click
'Save
Changes' on the Gmail 'Mail Settings' page.
