that isn't what the OP asked. he wants to boot from an image stored on the 
hard disk, not to install a live distro on hd. as far as i am aware, what he 
wants is impossible. it can't be done... unless perhaps he mounts it in some 
folder with the loopback option on a different machine, and then boots from 
that folder over a tcp/ip network. dunno - i'm just guessing.
