See Ubuntu discs in "any" quantity are available for free( as in free beer) from the Ubuntu website's "shipit" feature. But 1000 discs would be a number, which I assume wouldnt be feasible for them to ship. Also, it takes a lot of time for them to make shipments. Its been three months since I requested a bunch, and I havent got any. So I guess they aint gonna be able to get it to us well in time for COMPASS. What could be arranged though, is a copy of the Ankur live CD. If Sayam could possibly do a major screeching release, with the patched OO.org, then I guess the Ankur Live disc could be great advertisement for Linux and free software. 1000 "Lasertras" discs shouldnt be a problem cos they would cost hardly about Rs 5000-7000, which participating LUG members could pool in and arrange. I guess Sharmaji could even have this sponsored if necessary.
