Since we are on the subject of Compass 2005 and further, I felt like jotting down a few thoughts.
I was part of both the times iLUG-Cal was present at the Compass and thus could take notes on a few issues which if addressed properly would make it smooth sailing.
1. Point of Contact: Single point of contact from iLUG-Cal [our resident genie can be the Compass contact]
2. Defined objective: No point being present if there is no defined objective. Let us assess the Compass footfalls and choose judiciously
3. Stall presence: Focussed presence at stall (if any) and well defined ground rules ie no slackness to be tolerated
4. Press handouts: Press handouts (either in soft copy format or the 2 page [back-to-back] format used by FSF)
5. Stall guests: Invite guests to stalls for in-stall *adda*
For [1] I'd suggest that Sougata take up the lead on this. He has been an active member of the Compass efforts and is well versed in the ins and outs of the *game*.
