Hi,
I have inbuilt LAN in my ASRock motherboard. *discover -d* displays
Found VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II] (ethernet)
*lspci|grep Eth* displays as below
0000:00:12.0 Ethernet controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT6102 [Rhine-II]
(rev74)
but *mii-tool -v* shows --> no MII interfaces found
*mii-diag * displays
<output>
Using the default interface 'eth0'.
SIOCGMIIPHY on eth0 failed: No such device
</output>
then I have install *nictools-pic* package and *via-diag -v* displays
<output>
Found a VIA VT6102 Rhine-II (type 3065) adapter at 0xe000.
Station address 00:0b:6a:de:7b:3b.
Tx disabled, Rx disabled, half-duplex (0x0804).
Receive mode is 0x00: Unknown/invalid.
Transmit mode is 0x00: Normal transmit, 128 byte threshold.
No interrupt sources are pending (0000).
</output>
*interestingly* when I boot the machine from LNX-BBC live cd *then* both
'mii-tool' and 'mii-diag' shows information about the LAN card *BUT* there is
a message *autonegotiation incomplete*. when I boot the machine from Knoppix
and check *mii-tool -v* the console keeps on wating but nothing happens. is
the inbuilt lan is faulty or I need special tool to work with it ?
please suggest
