Hi Abhishek, Squid requires a fully-qualified-domain-name(FQDN) to start. For that u have to set ur hostname to something eg. example.com or example.org and not anything like only example . Before Squid u should start ur httpd service even not configured. Then start squid. remember not use the restart command for squid when u start ir for the 1st time.
