Has anyone here used Quantian (http://www.quantian.org/)? Just read about this on the OSSEDU list, had a look at the web-site, and it looks pretty impressive.
It's Knoppix-based and has scientific/engineering packages like R, Octave, gnumeric, plus the usual things like emacs/ vim, gcc suite, tetex/latex, etc. The one major ommission seems to be Gimp. I think I'll download the ISO and give it a try. If anyone here would also like to try it out, please let me know. On a related note, does the new Ubuntu have emacs, gcc and latex? AFAIR, I couldn't find them, though they're listed in the packages file. Mandar. -- To unsubscribe, send mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with the body "unsubscribe ilug-cal" and an empty subject line.
