Hello everybody,
We are thinking about forming a Ubuntu Local Community (LoCo) Team for
India which will officially act as the support team for all Ubuntu
related activities in India.
The main functions of the group will be --
 * Act as the official contact point for everything Ubuntu in India
 * Organise advocacy / technical sessions about Ubuntu
 * Represent Ubuntu in all major/non-major FOSS events in India
 * Look at the various Indic related issues in Ubuntu and push fixes
   into Ubuntu main
 * Being a LoCo team will allow us to maintain our custom packages in
Ubuntu main repos, we can use that by having a package to distribute
our customised packages, artwork, translations, etc.
 * More!
So the main procedure to become an officially recognised team is to put
our team on the next Community Council agenda and then the Community
Council will discuss and grant us official status.
I have created a wiki page for the IndianTeam in the Ubuntu wiki, you
are all invited to add your names there and edit the wiki to add more
content. I guess we also need to discuss among ourselves before the CC
meeting which will take place on the 7th.
Comments are welcome, and please go through the relevant links as given
below.
Regards,
BG
