Slashdot is not a public entity.
This is not a good analogy, iLug-cal is a public body, if the person who
is maintaining/sponsoring
the website, and has developed/provided the code, doesn't want to make
it public, then he should come
forward and categorically state this (or is it you Mr. Mukhopadhyay?),
so that the members of iLug-cal
can decide what to do next.

http://www.ilug-cal.org/ has been down for at least last couple of days.

>From the Salshdot website - "Today Slashdot is owned by OSTG,
.......OSTG is a wholly owned subsidiary
of VA Software Corporation."

Best.
