Or it started doing so after all the problems?hi, sorry for the cachy subject name, but its urgent... my friend uses a dual boot xp/fedora, virus distroyed xp.. so after grub xp wont start, sadly FEDORA ENTERS IN TERMINAL MODE, how to start to gUI mode.... from terminal mode... reply urgent... Follow these steps 1. Boot in to Fedora 2. Does the screen flicker/blink, as if trying to start the X server? 3. After logging in in terminal mode, enter: init 3 4. Then: init 5 5. If X doesn't start successfully, copy the file /var/log/messages/Xorg.0.log to a USB drive and post it here PS - In case you don't know how to access your USB drive in terminal mode, 1. As root, execute: /sbin/fdisk -l (that's l = "ell") 2. Your harddrive partitions & USB drive will be listed (as /dev/sd??). Identify it, let's say it's /dev/sdb1 3. Mount it in some path: mkdir /media/test mount /dev/sdb1 /media/test regards, Syam --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ "Freedom is the only law".
