Kenney, I didn't see any thing that suggests, the FS movement to be monopolistic in the link, you have provided. Or if you are referring FSFI, if some organization suggests that they aren't democratic, that doesn't mean they support monopoly. FSFI has been registered as a company to prevent it from being hijacked by monopolistic ideas and a company cannot be cent per cent democratic. FSFI was instrumental in getting India's vote against OOXML format and they support various organisations working for FLOSS development.
There are volunteer organisations like SMC that was founded to leverage GNU/Linux localisation efforts and later even contributed much code for other projects like Dhwani - thanks to Santhosh Thottingal. Now, another SMC volunteer, Jinesh is working or Malayalam OCR. There are several other tools like Swanalekha, Payyans etc from SMC and fonts like Meera and Suruma. Onother contributor for SMC projects, Rajeev is working on Pango support in Scribus which could help Malayalam DTP possible in GNU/Linux. SMC too is not democratic in nature, for it has no organisational structure or committees to rule over - No president, secretery etc. And would you also call SMC to be monopolistic? Have you ever contributed even to the discussions regarding localisations for that matter? Please, before making allegations, try to clear your path record. I am afraid, if I am moving away from the subject. Still, if you were not allowed to conduct a seminar or was denied a stall space for a conference, that is not an enough reason to paint the whole FS movement to be monopolistic.
