If you are experiencing the problem in Emacs, it is actually not a problem.
Just continue typing ignoring the cursor change. The letters will be
properly placed as it is supposed to be. Programmers are likely to
experience this more.

If this is the problem,  will explain actually what happens in the next
post. Otherwise post back.

Hi,

I'm using ubuntu 8.10, and i've had a problem
with the cursor for sometime. 
The problem is that, when i type into the terminal
or type a mail,suddenly the cursor jumps back a few
words and this is very irritating.It gets the text all
messed up.

Is there something that can be done?
