Report on "One day work shop on Remastering Ubuntu"

The workshop was a handy tool for those who need to know some of the
internals of a distribution.
We reached Attingal Engg college at 10.00AM sharp, the participants we
already there and registered for the event. Sunil sir invited us to a class
room, gave us a briefing on what we are going to do and introduced the
staff and students of the college who will be guiding us on different
topics.

There where 15 of us including students from CEAL. After the briefing we
moved into the Computer lab for hands-on.

The first session was by Sunil sir, and he explained all the files and
folders inside a live cd and we began to rebuild each one of those from
scratch. Around afternoon we had done our first customized-ubuntu
distribution. :). We booted our own distribution in virtualbox

The afternoon sessions were handled by the senior students of CEAL (Dipin
Krishna and his colleague-- sorry for not remembering name) and was on
remastersys and Reconstructor.
It added how to modify the distribution with splash screens and tips on how
to make your own splash screen.

The sessions were great and learned a lot of things in a single day as Sunil
sir quoted that would take a month if tried otherwise.
