pressing cttrl+c will terminate the connection and that's why it shows
the usage time. Don't close the terminal when it displays the IP and
DNS address. Start browsing with that terminal window open. Since
wvdial works for you, gnomePPP must also work fine, if you have
configured wvdial for default connection.
