I've been using Sun VirtualBox on Fedora / RHEL 5 for running MS DOS 6.22 and customized RHEL installations. No issues yet.
It gives good performance, and doesn't need a separate kernel running (like xen). VirtualBox does requires a kernel module, but that will be automatically generated by the installer.
