you cannot login as root in fedora 10 by default, because it is not reccomended. If you insist on logging in as root, then open terminal & type the following command. *su -c 'gedit /etc/pam.d/gdm*' (type your root password when asked &) then remove the line *auth required pam_succeed_if.so user != root quiet* ** then logout
