I downloaded XAMPP for Linux, and then installed it using the
instructions provided in the project home page.(
http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-linux.html )

And, then I started it using "sudo /opt/lampp/lampp start"

The output is as follows:-

Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7.1...
XAMPP: Starting Apache with SSL (and PHP5)...
XAMPP: Starting MySQL...
XAMPP: Starting ProFTPD...
XAMPP for Linux started.

But, when I try to access the localhost page using Firefox for running
my php scripts, it shows "Firefox is currently in the offline mode".
Then, I searched their forum, but can't manage to solve this.

Then , I removed it using "rm -rf /opt/lampp" and re-installed in the
same way. After that, the story changed. It is now showing:-

Starting XAMPP for Linux 1.7.1...
XAMPP: Another web server daemon is already running.
XAMPP: Another MySQL daemon is already running.
XAMPP: Another FTP daemon is already running.
XAMPP for Linux started.

Any LAMP developer or some one else please help me.

( I installed LAMP packages like apache, php, mysql separately using
apt-get. But, removed it before installing XAMPP. Because, by googling
I got that XAMPP package include all these. We don't have to install
it from repo.)
