All,

Nobody can prevent people posting spam mail. Most of the spam mails are
caught by Google's spam detection. Admins are notified of that spam. When
new members post mail, then also admins get notified and get a chance to
moderate. But when people who regularly post/has been asking legitimate
questions post such spam we cannot do anything other than to ignore it. The
issue is complicated when people reply to such spam calling for admin action
or expressing anger. That is a pointless action which everyone has been
doing even after my repeated requests.

If you think someone has posted spam, wait for a day for an admin to
respond/take some action. Mail admins only after that. Replying to the spam
itself even after recognizing it as spam is not encouraged since it creates
unnecessary threads/posts on it. We do not want that.

I once again request people to refrain from replying to a spam thread if you
recognize it as one. Admins cannot prevent it from reaching your inbox . We
can only remove it from the archives and we promise to do that.
