@sajjad i was in Junise's team for the event at LBSCE kasaragod.As a student of the college i have a few suggestions to make:
+ In case you plan the release of the DVD in the techfest let everyone know about it,You can in the opening ceromony ask the cheif guest to release.And DO give a talk(5 mins or so)about the release.We played some vedios showing Compiz effects and other eye candies. + Do keep enough copies of DVD ready for distribution.Here at LBS college we could not supply enough DVDs,the demand was so high. + In case your college is equiped with wi-fi network or some other internet access do not forget to tell people how to configure it. + start a mailing list and give contact numbers and ensure help will be always available from a friend(tell them they dont need to call up a corporate office) + make sure you include non-free codecs like mp3 or if you are very strict about using ogg include a mp3-to-ogg converter.In LBS Junise took care to include all codecs from MP3 to 3gp + Ask Students to bring over their laptops and provide on-spot installation. and COlleges are the best places for spreading free software.
