hi everyone,
I am using multiboot on my desktop PC with windows XP,ubuntu
9.04 and PClinux os. the bootloader is grub. XP boots normally, Pclinux
takes a lot of time than it normally does, and ubuntu doesnt boot at all...
Trying with ubuntu fails and the following error comes on the
screen.....
"starting up.......
[x.xxxxx][firmware bug] powernow k-8:your Bios doesnt provide acpi_PS3
objects in a way linux understands. please report to linux acpi maintainer
and so on....
two such lines turn out....

and finally
"loading, please wait...
19+0 records in
19+0 records out
kinit:name_to_dev_t(.....so on....)=dev(8,9)
kinit:trying to resume from /dev/disk/by-uuid/xxxxxx xxxxxx
kinit:no resume image , doing normal boot....."

Then
"could not start X server due to some internal error...."

If this was a problem with BIOS FIRMWARE why is it not affecting
XP...somebody help.......
