Joomla community is vast when compared to Drupal. There are also umpteen number of non-free (proprietary) plugins and professional paid templates in Joomla. That is its flexibility side.
But if you come to robustness and security, Drupal is far more superior. Code is clean. Geekiness is wild. Drupal is more inclined to FLOSS principles.
