I think reconfiguring dpkg should work for you too. The problem may be, due
to low space synaptic may not confire/unpack some of the packages you tried
to install. When reconfigure aith -a, all the packages left
unconfigured/unpacked are fixed. Instead, you removed them. And fixed it :)
