Well *most* people (for many reasons, including the illogical) think that hacking is the same as cracking. It's more or less part of our vocabulary now. It's OK dude. Just deal with it and move on. To most people, drawing the perfect UML diagram or writing uber-leet LISP is not exactly glamorous. So the public view of hacking is that of a cracker.
