Hello friends,
I've vlc player installed on my system. (ubuntu 9.10)
...
$ vlc --version
VLC media player 1.1.0-git The Luggage
VLC version 1.1.0-git The Luggage (exported)
Compiled by buildd on hassium.ppa (Mar  2 2010 19:22:47)

Since it is a ppa version, it may have bugs, but the problem is,
It does not play flash video files. I tried running vlc from a normal
terminal, and on playing flv files it doesn't dump any error! For AVI or mp4
files it dumps errors like "h264 is missing, can't fix it!" etc. But the
strange thing is that, I tried $sudo vlc, it plays everything including
flash videos without any problems. And it was for the first time I run vlc
as root. Now amazingly everything is fixed!!! Vlc runs in normal mode
without any errors!!! Do anyone know what could be the possible causes? Just
need to know :)
