@ Sanal If what you want is print, you should set the units as *physical length*(millimeters/centimeters/inches) instead of *pixels* on your image editor.
This is what I do: First create a new document A3 size (297 × 420 mm), 300dpi. Then import the image to the new document & resize it to the required size (approx. 28 x 24 mm for stamp size). Then see whether you it has enough quality in full size preview. Then fill up the entire sheet with the copy of that image. Then save it (I prefer .tiff).
