hi thanks for advice, what i actually want is disconnect the connection after a particular time period. what you are suggesting is the way to manually disconnect the connection like we do as in the case of a dial up connection. i know that by executing "poff" command in terminal i can disconnect the connection, but i want the same to happen automatically without any kind of user intervention
