i hv somethng to tell  ... there is different dialects (form ) of lisp now
... popular are emacs lisp , common lisp ... u ca pick up emacs ( here the
entension is .el ). emacs can be a useful IDE. here is th elink from common
lisp cookbook that tell how to compile lisp in emacs ...
