As far my understanding goes this monitor tv is no different from any other LCD TV (Bravia/Vierra etc) sets that can accept VGA/HDMI signals from your PC/Laptop/consoles. just plug it in to the PC using appropriate cables, VGA or HDMI and you are good to go. make sure select appropriate out put resolution in OS. Regarding live recording of TV programs in this one it is not possible, as said earlier it is just a TV. To record TV programs you need a tv tuner card with capturing facility
