        Hello,

Is the windows boot option is in grub menu list? if not, edit
/boot/grub/menu.lst as required ... one thing , tell me which

        ?
        ---------------------------------------------------------------

        It is in sda1

        I am pasting below grub/ menu.lst

        title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.26-2-686
        root (hd0,8)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-686 root=/dev/sda9 ro quiet
        initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-2-686

        title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.26-2-686 (single-user mode)
        root (hd0,8)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-2-686 root=/dev/sda9 ro single
        initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-2-686

        title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.26-1-686
        root (hd0,8)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-686 root=/dev/sda9 ro quiet
        initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-1-686

        title Debian GNU/Linux, kernel 2.6.26-1-686 (single-user mode)
        root (hd0,8)
        kernel /boot/vmlinuz-2.6.26-1-686 root=/dev/sda9 ro single
        initrd /boot/initrd.img-2.6.26-1-686

        ### END DEBIAN AUTOMAGIC KERNELS LIST

        # This is a divider, added to separate the menu items below from
        the Debian
        # ones.
        title Other operating systems:
        root

        # This entry automatically added by the Debian installer for a
        non-linux OS
        # on /dev/sda1

        title Microsoft Windows XP Professional
        root (hd0,0)
        savedefault
        makeactive
        chainloader +1

        ----------------------------------

somebody else suggested to boot WIN in " Last known good
condiguration" , but to no avail, it reboots.

I have not edited this file manually, it is as created during
        Debian installation.
