I think a simple Print Screen can do the magic. Atleast that is how i
extract images from video. :D

The Print Screen should invoke the program gnome-screenshot for you. You can
do the thing while in full screen also.

Just pause at the frame and then press Print Screen. If it for simple
images, or if is a sequence of images then you will have to use any of the
above mentioned softwares.
