Well, I am not sure that it is a weakness. Since people do forget things, they need a means by which they can get back access to their machine once they forget the root password. Otherwise, the person will have to reformat the disk and lose everything in it. Don't you think it is good to have some way to access the machine if you lose the password? Best Sasi -- V.
