sir, thanks for the light shown. i have used the system>administration>users and groups>users settings>add>manual password setting. to add users when i try to login as different user i am getting a error message"The name org.gnome.DisplayManager was not provided by any .service files". also whenever i try to change the login screen through system>administration>login screen it can not be accessed as it is shown as greyed. again whenever the screen saver is activated i have to unlock it with password.i am unable to change this . i can not switch user from that screen also.there is something terribly wrong in some settings but where? i am using kubuntu which comes up while starting and closing screen.
