The ILUG-TVM had its monthly meeting today at INSIGHT. The meeting got started at around 3:20 pm with the participation of a few differently abled members of INSIGHT. Starting with a self-introduction of the attendees followed by an ice breaking session ,which helped reveal the field of expertise of each of us , the agenda for the day was laid down. The general discussion thats followed were mostly focused on the requirements of the visually challenged.
A comparison of the free software accessibility tools and their proprietary counterparts were made out .The suggestions that came off this includes improvements and additional support to accessibility tools like ORCA . This was followed by a class on the arduino microcontroller board by Dhananjay. This was aided by a few self-build arduino boards and demos of writing programs and burning them onto the chip.The discussion was kept active and interesting by a truly active audience.
