Go for gedit / kate  as an editor , look for plugins for the language you
choose to develop on . If you already have a favourite text editor , search
for customisations for it .*The best tool is the one you feel most
comfortable with .*

Wont using a framework like django make it more harder to understand the
mechanism ? Shouldn't one be actually doing something without a framework
first?
