Ubuntu 10.04 ships with network manager applet which can be used to connect to mobile broadband. plugin you modem and wait for a few sec to get it detected. now right click the network icon on the top panel notification tray and select edit conncetion. a dialog box will open, in it change to mobile broadband tab and click add button to start the connection wizard. 1. In the first page page it will prompt you to select the modem you want to use. if your modem has been detected it will be listed select it and proceed to next page 2. the second page will ask you to select your country(India) followed by carrier(Reliance). following this you will have to provide you username and password(the MDN printed on the box of the modem). Press OK to save the changes and close all dialog boxes. 3. now Left click the network icon and select Reliance from the list of available connections and voila you are good to go
