That file only contains 'screen depth' set as 24 bit. And some other
info not any screen resolution. I have checked it before replying to
your last mail with 'yes'
In that case, you can probably add a line in that file to set a
particular resolution.
In the "Display" section of the file, (the same place you might've seen
"Depth" as 24), add the following line:
Modes "1024x768"
Save the file and restart X server (log-out and log-in or
Ctrl+Alt+Backspace).
