Hi everybody,

I have a Compaq V6608AU Laptop with AMD Turion 64 bit X 2 processor, nVidia
nForce 630n Chipset, 4GB RAM.
I am always facing graphics problems when I try to install any distribution
from a live CD. The GUI is distorted with multiple screen images
superimposed with multiple mouse pointers etc. So I cannot proceed with the
installation wizard. So I always use the alternate CDs.
But certain distributions dont have alternate CDs. Lately I tried to install
Qimo for kids, then Edubuntu and LMDE, but failed in all attempts, because
all the three have LiveCDs only.
So, is there any way to install linux in non-graphics mode from the liveCDs?

Regards,

Sajeed
