Of course, if you are a GNU/Linux or FreeBSD user, you may not have to worry. I wouldn't be smug about any machine. Remember that hundreds of thousands of Macs were infected recently, though I admit that I do not know of a similar epidemic for GNU/Linux machines. But, let us remember that, in principle, no machine is perfectly safe. Assuming that, let us make this an opportunity to point out the serious flaws in the Windoze system and see if we can get people to migrate. That was the whole point of my posting the news here.
