Could you please post the IP settings that your system gets after
connected to the network, after you are able to ping the gateway.
Earlier I too had faced a similar issue and the problem was the
network manager some how erased the /etc/resolv.conf and thereby
deleting the dns servers list.

Try this settings in your /etc/resolv.conf file, edit it after you are
connected, once you reconnect it, you will have to change the
resolv.conf settings again.

nameserver 8.8.8.8
nameserver 4.4.4.4
