It is no the syntax highlighting thats the probelm .It is SYNTAX CHECKING and ERROR NOTIFICATION in the line with syntax error. With Quanta Plus.It doesnot have syntax checking for PHP.In eclipse or netbeans or Dreamweaver, now will indicate error in the line which is syntactically incorrect.
The main problem that i was trying to tell is that In opensource world If syntax checking is there,no design view and vice versa I can live without Dreamweaver. But i cannot get my colleagues who are glued to dreamweaver to use an opensource alternative because of the highly USERFRIENDLY DESIGN VIEW for PHP Web applications in Dreamweaver. However i have heard about kompozer with the features near to Dreamweaver..But i was not able to install it in fedora linux.:-( On Thu, Mar 7, 2013 at 12:21 PM, <[email protected]> wrote: > Today's Topic Summary > > Group: http://groups.google.com/group/ilug-tvm/topics > > - PHP IDE with Design View in linux <#13d439ee25cd5e48_group_thread_0>[2 > Updates] > > PHP IDE with Design View in > linux<http://groups.google.com/group/ilug-tvm/t/f37b3463b327940c> > > "Tanzeem M.B" <[email protected]> Mar 06 04:06PM +0530 > > Hi > > Dreamweaver CS5 has now got PHP syntax checking along with its > most userfriendly and famous feature- The Design View. > > There is no Opensource alternative anywhere near DW. > Quantaplus is good to some extend and i am using that for development. > But this still lacks syntax highlighting. And the features that i went > trough are much less compared to DW. > Eclipse and NetBeans have PHP plugins with syntax checking but no > design > view. > > Any movements in this field to increase capability of QuantaPlus or add > design view to Eclipse/NetBeans.? > > Anybody to write design view plugins to NetBeans and Eclipse will be > much > welcomed > > Happy coding- programers... > > -- > Tanzeem M.B > Programmer, C-DIT > > > > > Jaseem Abid <[email protected]> Mar 06 10:01PM +0530 > > > Hi > > > Dreamweaver CS5 has now got PHP syntax checking along with its > > most userfriendly and famous feature- The Design View. > > I have never really used DW, so can you list a few DW features which > you > cannot live without? > > > There is no Opensource alternative anywhere near DW. > [citation required] ;) > > > Quantaplus is good to some extend and i am using that for > development. > I just checked a few screenshots, and I generally hate IDEs with a > million > buttons and menus.
