Download "SystemRescueCd" from http://www.sysresccd.org
It has several recovery tools, including one called "TestDisk"
(http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk).
I had used it (although independently and not through SystemRescueCd)
once and it can recover files from messed up partitions.
Boot from SystemRescueCd and try copying out all data to some external
disk (pen drive or USB HDD). Never write anything to your problematic
internal hard disk before you get your data out safely.
