I found recently from the FSF site that the common GNU/Linux distros used are not fully free (under the Guidelines for Free System Distributions <http://www.gnu.org/distros/free-system-distribution-guidelines.html>. ).
Given below is the link to the distros that include exclusively Free Software and reject nonfree applications, nonfree programming platforms, nonfree drivers, nonfree firmware “blobs”, nonfree games, and any other nonfree software, as well as nonfree manuals or documentation. http://www.gnu.org/distros/free-distros.html I recently installed Trisquel GNU/Linux and i use it for PHP Web development , office use and internet.It is working great. It is based on ubuntu(without its non free and other controversial issues with its Unity interface) and it is fully free as listed in the list in above URL.
