Are you against RAD model? I feel, the lack of (knowledge of) RAD in linux
is one of the reason why Linux is not widely used for application
development for end user.

huh? lack of knowledge of RAD in linux? which planet are you from? have you heard of RoR, or django or (here add one million examples)
