Hi, I want to connect to serial ports, but my laptop has only USB ports available. Hence, I'm looking for a USB to serial converter that's reliable and linux compatible.
I've bought three non-branded USB/serial converters, but they all failed after 6 months of light use. None of them have worked reliably (tried Debian 4 and WinXP) -- sometimes they don't get detected, other times I can receive but can't transmit, etc. They rarely work.
