svk can get pretty slow once the number of commits becomes large. :(

I hear you, there is a project I use svk for, and with 100k commits now in the backend, its becoming a pain.

I haven't worked with git or mtn or bazaar, so can't really compare.

while most people would get major wins from svk, you cant really replace git or bazaar with it. For one, svk wont let you do local repo management like git does and wont let you do repo forking etc that is pretty much the central point of git/bazaar.

Having said that - I think mercurial is the best distributed system out there at the moment. The best bang-for-the-buck if you will.
