Hi, I am not a mobile security expert but I do have some basic idea about it.
> 1. How easy is it breaking into a mobile phone. What are the requistes for > hacking a phone( both the hacker and the victim) One way of attacking mobile is via bluetooth. When ever I turn on my mobile in public places I'll get hundreds of request to download some file. I also heard about attacks via SMS but never experienced. Another way people leak their personal information is via their memory cards. Most of the people give their mobile for service along with the memory card. Even if they delete the content a service person can recover all most all data using data recovery software. > 2. What steps can one take to prevent hacking private info especially when > mobile banking etc are popular Turn off bluetooth in public places or don't accept files from unknown person. Delete messages containing your personal information(e.g. mobile banking) from Sent/Draft folders as soon as possible. Always remove your memory card before giving it for service.
