A global IP comes in handy. Interesting they provide an option. Airtel guys provide that option, but it is a few thousand rupees, IIRC. Their service is good. But when they come out with new plans, they never tell you about it! For example, they now provide 384 kbps for Rs. 999. I was getting 256 kbps for the same amount for a few years. I saw the tariff revision on their site, but the call center folks asked me to go to a showroom dealing with landlines and write a letter. Well, it was years since I wrote a traditional letter with pen and paper and I forgot if the "From" comes first or the "To". I shamelessly copied from a letter left on the desk. It is weird that they make it as difficult as possible for guys to change the _current_ offerings. I wonder how many guys are still stuck to the 128 kbps plan for the same amount. ;-) > > PS: The help desk guy said, No extra charge for this.
