OpenBSD greylisting uses a light weight smtp relay server
(spamd) that sits in front of your real smtp servers.

spamd works in combination with the pf firewall, and can greylist
and tarpit spammers. Multiple spamd machines can also sync
their state and work nicely as a cluster.

Good point. A single anti-spam technique alone cannot stop
all threats. However, greylisting makes an excellent first line
of defense that cuts down the volume of email that needs to
be scanned by the other anti-spam layers.
