Dear all,
I successfully installed skype and then restarted the system. Then came the
startx problem. I checked the gdm also. I tried to restart it but it fails
to do the same. I tried sudo /etc/init.d/gdm restart :
* Stopping GNOME Display Manager . .
. [OK]
* Starting GNOME Display Manager . . .
[fail]
For startx command:
xauth: error while loading shared libraries: libXau.so.6: cannot open shared
object file: No such file or directory.
So at the end of the day, operation was successful (skype installation in
ubuntu 8.04), but the patient's life (ubuntu 8.04 ) is .......... miserable.
I did this work in my friend's laptop. Kindly help me in fixing the bug.
