Not any more than freaking out when they realize that they have to struggle with the blue screens of death for a long time. Or over inquisitiveness of the OS in the case of Windows Vista (so I hear). I know of many totally non-geek Windows users who have made a partial to near complete switch to Ubuntu for one simple reason: get work done (where work is among word processing, spreadsheet, internet and e-mail) minus blue screens of death. The fact that graphics and sound works flawlessly in most GNU/Linux distributions adds to the reason.
